How Bess and Jared came to the Peace Corps

Jared grew up in the suburbs of Philadelphia in Bryn Athyn Pennsylvania and Bess grew up on a small farm in Sugar Hill New Hampshire. Jared and Bess met attending a private high school outside of North East Philadelphia. They were married in New Hampshire on 6/17/06 and shared a dream of spending their first years together as Peace Corps Volunteers. "We wanted to live out a few of our early years as a married couple somewhere apart from American society. We wanted to experience something different then our traditional upbringing. Peace Corps was the best way for us to explore a new peoples, a new country with different cultures, languages, religions, traditions, and currency. We wanted to challenge ourselves, help other people and learn to speak a new language.
